* Costs: £25 Entry Fee
plus approximately £175 accommodation and transportation fee (which includes
return ferry crossings from Hull to Rotterdam including cabin and one night stay
in a central Amsterdam hostel) and all food for the trip except for the evening in Amsterdam
where you'll no doubt want to fend for yourselves! *
Check out this amazing trip! It is a 250-mile (ish!), 4-day journey to raise much needed funds for Jessie's Fund.
After the extraordinary
2007 event when we managed to raise over £10,000 and attracted a dozen corporate sponsors and the 2008 event when we raised almost £8,000 we were hoping to make the 2009 event even better! We want to
raise over
£20,000 for the charity and need your help!

- We
set off from York and head to Hull, some 60 miles away where
our overnight ferry to Rotterdam awaits. Once there, we'll check-in, find our rooms,
have a quick shower and get changed ready to go to the entertainment lounge and
make fools of ourselves on the dancefloor.
-
We'll wake up to find ourselves in beautiful
Holland, where cyclists are treated like gods and car drivers actually give way
to you no matter what! We'll ride up through the countryside, stop for
a quick lunch and a paddle in the lake at Valkenberg and then head onwards to Amsterdam
where we'll stay in a fabulous hostel in the city centre so that the more curious of the riders can explore!
- The next
morning sees the start of one of the most scenic days of the entire trip as we head
back to Rotterdam through the centre of Holland. You'll be amazed at the Windmills
and canals as we pass through small towns and large cities before arriving back
at the Ferry in time for our return journey. Once again, we'll get to boogie the
night away, then collapse in a heap with a beer in one hand and a plastic windmill
in the other before being gently rocked to sleep in our cabins!
-
Finally we'll be back in the Uk with an easy ride
back to York and the finish line! We'll laugh at the people who swore that we
wouldn't be able to make it and beam at the awaiting family members and friends! We'll make
some amazing friends on this trip and you'll soon be asking if you can take part
in Amsterslam2010!!!
The route is mainly traffic
free - we'll trundle through countryside, amazing views and some fabulous
towns and cities in Holland. This ride is suitable
for riders of all levels. We'll only ride at the speed of the slowest
rider so no-one will have anything to worry about! We give helping hands when required
and as much encouragement as we think is needed!
We want to smash the amount of money we raised
in 2007 and 2008 for this event for Jessie's Fund!!
