Amsterdame10
Sponsor Information
June 11th - 15th
This is an amazing event, taking 60 novice female cyclists on
a 250+ mile bike journey from York to Amsterdam and back again all with the aim to raise a massive £30,000 for Marie Curie
Cancer Care, but they need your help!
Thank you for checking out the Amsterdame10 Sponsor Information page. It's
especially encouraging knowing that you've made it this far even though the
financial climate is pretty horrific at the moment. Inevitably we're asking for
your help to either sponsor a rider, donate some money to Marie Curie, donate a
prize that we can give to the best fundraiser or donate some items that we can
raffle in order to raise money.
In return we will advertise your generosity on
this website, on the justgiving site that the ladies are using to raise funds
online, on the ride t-shirts and in any press releases we send out about the
event and of course you'll be safe in the knowledge that you've done your bit to
help a worthy cause! You can even claim tax relief as we can get Marie Curie to
provide you with a receipt for your donation!
The sponsorship options are detailed a little below, but first some information on the event itself.

The 60-strong team will leave York on June 11th and cycle the 55 miles or so to
Hull where they will catch the overnight ferry to Rotterdam. They'll then cycle
from Rotterdam Europort to Amsterdam, some 75 miles away, before staying
over in a city centre hostel. Having had a little rest they'll then do the whole thing in reverse in order to finish back in York on June 15th
exhausted but elated!
Julia Bradbury kindly gave up some of her time to attend a pre-event
get-together for the 2008 event. Click on the picture to see her website gallery

Ways in which you can help:
- Sponsor a rider. Each rider has to
not only raise money for the charity, get out as much as possibly in advance of
the ride to try to put in hours in the saddle to make the event as pain-free in
the bum area as possible, but also has to pay for their accommodation and
transport fees. Could you help here by sponsoring one (or more) of the
Amsterdames? The costs involved here are £195 per
rider. If you could sponsor one that would be a massive help and leave them free
to concentrate on raising money for Marie Curie.
- Donate a prize!
To help encourage the ladies to raise money, we could offer a prize for the
person who raises the most money for the charity. Do you have a suitable prize
that you could donate? For example, last year's prize was a Champagne Spa Day in
London. We added £100 to help pay for the winner to get to London and back!
Please contact us for further information, or if you wish to donate a prize.

-
Simply donate to the charity. You could just email us and make a pledge (use the
contact us page) or donate directly onto the JustGiving website at
http://www.justgiving.com/amsterdame10 where you can add your own comments,
including your company name and website address. We can arrange for a receipt
for your donation to be sent to you in return and will also add your logo,
company information and web link to our websites and put your logo on the ride
t-shirts.
-
Donate
items for our raffle!
We will be trying to raise money through a number of
raffles and would welcome any items that you could spare. All of the money
raised will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. Please remember that every
little helps and a mere £20 pays for an hour of a community nurses time.
-
The Corporate Award!
Last but by no means least, the Corporate sponsor who donates the most money towards
this event will receive an personalised glass award with their logo, company name and details
etched into it so that it can be displayed with pride!
We will also endeavour to send you a framed team photo of all of the
Amsterdame10 ladies!
Once again, many thanks for your time and please see if you can go that
extra mile to help these ladies hit their massive sponsorship target. They're
really going to be pushing themselves to the limit during four 10-hour days and
your support is invaluable to them and of course to Marie Curie.
